The game was the first competitive of the New Year for Bandon and they need the win return to the top of the league. This was shown through the intensity to which they pressed the ball when the opposition were in possession. When Bandon had the ball they showed real quality through quick passing which created opportunities on the final third. Bandon took the lead when Holden did well on the right and delivered a quality ball which Brendan Cullen headed in. Cullen added the second soon after with another into the top corner. Bandon added a third when the ball broke from a set play to Richard Holland who blasted the ball into the back of the net. The game was 3-0 at half time.
Tramore came out of the traps in the second and out Bandon under pressure but didn’t really create much. Their goal came from a good cross which split the keeper and defence and this was the wake up Bandon needed an they went up the other side of the pitch and Brendan Cullen got his hat trick. In truth It should have been more but Bandon finished the game with a good away win and the first of the calendar year. In top form for Bandon was Darren Cullen, Mick Bradfield, Sean Holland and Richard Holland but it was Cullen’s goals that saw him take the man of the match award. Bandon now face Youghal away Friday night in the League
