It was game that saw both sides qualify for the F.A.I. Cup First Round Proper and one that would only see the winners into the last eight of country.
The game saw Bandon take on the second overall favourites and with the bookies placing Bandon at 11/2 to win the game and 80/1 to win the competition the Dublin side didn’t know what hit them in the first 30 minutes and only for a near miss from Richard Holland with a great strike and the officials being loyal to their Dublin counterparts with Brendan Cullen being pulled back for offside on 5 occasions with 3 no more offside than ************************ I will say no more, then the home side dominated with an awful wind and got what can only be described as a game ruining goal , but the Bluebell player was there to finish it off he second was clinical and showed their experience and from there it was a battle. The second half saw Bandon show there quality and heart and Richard Holland and Darren Cullen just connected to clean from some great deliveries and half way through the second half a last ditch tackle stopped Brendan Cullen running through 1 on 1. Bluebell held on in the end and the game finished scrappy with both sides battling for the elusive next goal which never came. The game finished 2-0 and Bluebell look forward to a Quarter Final tie, with Bandon awaiting the first round of the FAI Cup Proper for qualification to last 16, Bandon next fixture is away in the Munster Senior League to Youghal Friday night.
