13th October 2012
Bandon Under 12 girls were most unlucky not to take something from their 3rd league match, played away to Passage, loosing out by the only goal of the game. Played in great conditions, Bandon were under a little bit of pressure in the first half, but some strong defending and excellent goalkeeping from Edel Collins kept the first half scoreless. Bandon came out much stronger in the second half and put pressure on the Passage goal on a number of occasions. However, luck isn’t with the girls at the moment, and just as they had got on top, Passage scored, when a bad bounce deceived the Bandon keeper. From this point to the end, Bandon piled forward looking for an equaliser, with great chances falling to Siobhan Kelleher, Jordan Warren and Emily Holland. Try as they did however, the equaliser just wouldn’t come and Passage won on a score line of 1-0. This was another improved performance from the girls in their 3rd match, and they look forward to welcoming Watergrasshill to Bandon on October 27th for their next game.
Best for Bandon were goalkeeper Edel Collins, Siobhan Kelleher in her first match for the team and Elena Behan, with the rest of the panel being Aoife Harrington, Niamh Trunwit, Amy O Callaghan, Emily Holland, Izzy Canniffe, Jolie McCabe, Jordan Warren, Chloe Collins, and sisters Katie and Laura Barr.
