Bandon Under 12’s secured their first win of the season, with a well deserved 2-0 home win against Watergrasshill on Saturday. Roared on by a vociferous home support, who got more involved as the game went on, Bandon stormed into the attack from the first minute and never looked in any real danger at the other end. Izzie Canniffe was on the score sheet once again with the opening score, a great shot to the corner of the net. Emily Holland forced a great save from the visiting goalkeeper, who just managed to tip her piledriver over the bar. 1-0 up at half-time, Bandon kept up the pressure in the second half and were rewarded with a second goal, a great finish from the ever dangerous Emily, who has a real eye for goal. Bandon continued to pile on the pressure but no further goals resulted. So delight for the girls, t heir first win in four matches and sets the team up well for the next match, a home cup tie against the very strong Springfield. Best for Bandon in this match were Siobhan Kelleher who gave a tremendous display in defence, Niamh Trunwitt who was very solid on the left side and Jordan Warren who worked tirelessly in attack, with the rest of the panel being Maeve O’ Driscoll (captain), Elena Behan, Edel Collins, Chloe Desmond, Amy O’ Callaghan, Aoife Harrington, Jolie McCabe, Izzie Canniffe, Emily Holland.
