Bandon travelled to local rivals Ballinhassig in search of three points. Ballinhassig did not make it easy for the Bandon girls putting Bandon under pressure from the start. Bandon soaked up Ballinhassig’s pressure and started to take control of the game. Bandon went on an attack from the left side of Niamh Trunwit. Bandon got a corner from the attack and Emily Holland sent a perfect ball in. This created a goal mouth scramble before the ball was knocked out to Kate McLaughlin who fired it through and hit the top corner of the net.1-0 to Bandon after six minutes. Bandon continued to put the pressure on and their reward came three minutes later when Holly Warren got the ball on the right wing and linked up well with Holland. Warren then found Izzy Canniffe who made no mistake and put it in the back of the net. Bandon 2-0 up after ten minutes. Ballinhassig girls didn’t drop their heads. They applied the pressure to the back line of Anna Daly, Aoife Harington and Trunwit. Harrington held her back line and team together and did an excellent job in her captain role for the day. Bandon made a change twenty minutes into the half and brought on Veronica Endepu. Shannon Cregan was applying pressure on the right wing and putting Ballinhassig under pressure. Canniffe and Endepu went on a break but they were deemed to be offside. This did not have an affect on the Bandon girls and on the twenty eight minute Canniffe and Endepu made no mistake this time and Endepu made no mistake with her shot. Half time 3-0 in favour of the visitors.
The second half started and Bandon made a change bringing on Sarah Buckley for Cregan. The start of the second half was scrappy and neither team got a grip on the game. It was Bandon who got to grips off the half and McLaughlin and Holland linked up and Holland got her goal a deserved reward for her work ethic for the day. Bandon kept their lead and got their three points they deserved on the day.
