Bandon Under 16 kept their league hopes intact with a victory over Lakewood at the Town Park on Sunday morning.
Bandon went ahead after 10 minutes when Eoin Nolan played a great ball to Denzil Fernandez who beat the keeper low down. Denzil made it 2-0 when he hit a great left footed shot from the edge of the area to give Lakewood’s keeper no chance.
After 20 minutes Colm Dineen made it 3-0 when he was very alert to create a chance inside the penalty area. Daniel Fernandez made it four when on the right wing he beat two defenders and cut in and shot past the keeper low down to his left. Before half time, Eoin Nolan after good play by Brian O’Connell who split their defence allowing Nolan to finish well.
Bandon made changes at half time and the four subs who came on all played well. Denzil was to score two more goals, with the first one made by Mitchell Fallon and the second after a long kick out by goalkeeper Shane Collins who was excellent all game.
While all the team played well players worth a mention were Brian O’Connell, James Daly and Jack Kelly.
