Bandon’s Under 16 team won the league title after beating Midleton in their second last league game on 30th April. There is great credit due to the boys who after losing their first league game went on to not drop any points in the remaining games. In 17 games they have scored 99 goals while the defence conceded only 31.
Bandon started well and after ten mins Denzil Fernandez who has had an amazing goal scoring record for the season scored after good build up play by Eoin Nolan and Colm Dineen. Bandon continued to dominate the play but the sides went in at the break with Bandon one up.
Five minutes into the second half Jordan McCabe made space on the left and with a great cross set up Denzil to make it two nil. After 75 mins Jordan McCabe scored for the second game in a row when James Daly set him up. Two mins later Denzil made it 5 when the two Eoins’ combined to put him through on goal.
