30th March 2013
Bandon continued their recent run with a very hard fought victory over a Midleton side who made the home team fight all the way to get 3 points in their bid for league honours. Bandon had a great start when after 5 mins Eoin Nolan got on the end of a through ball to slot home. Bandon were two up after 18 mins when after a succession of corners Eoin Hurley put in a great cross which was headed home in great style by David Behan. Bandon continued to dominate but were unable to score again and Midleton made them pay when two goals in the 30th and 35th minute brought the teams level.
The second half started with Midleton on top and were unlucky when after 50 mins hit the crossbar. Bandon who were not playing well then up their game in an effort to win the match. It looked like a draw until the last minute when Eoin Hurley picked up a loose ball in midfield and hit a shot from 35 yards to the top left corner of the net. The goal is a contender for goal of the season. Bandon held on for the victory and with league leaders Carrigtwohill been defeated Bandon have the chance to win the league but with 2 very difficult away games to come
