A fantastic morning for a game of football, pitch in perfect condition for a game of football both team went out looking for 3 points. Bandon who were missing 3 key players (Ciaran McCarthy Adain O Mahony and Peter Callanan) showed they had great depth and strength in their squad. For the first 10 minutes Bandon controlled the tempo of the game. They held onto the ball in vital areas of the pitch. Passage proved to be hard to break down as they were well organised and very powerful in the spine of their team. Passage were the team to take the lead with 15 minutes gone with a 30 yard strike was inch perfect into the roof of the net beating Bandon’s stand in keeper Robert O Driscoll. Bandon failed to recover from this blow and Passage where now in total control and in quick concession Passage made it 2-0 from some sloppy defending on Bandon’s part where they failed to clear the ball. Passages Jamie O Sullivan and Adam Murphy looked dangerous every time they were in possession. Bandon’s heads were down and Passage made them suffer by adding another goal on the half hour mark. This sparked Bandon and realised they were going to be severely punished if they didn’t react. Paul Lang led from the back along with Rhys Coakley in Greg Fittion in midfield started hitting some tough tackle and great interception. Bandon needed a quick response and that’s what they got. Some great link up play in midfield and a through ball by Rhys set Aaron Daly off where he beat the last man and dinked the ball over the oncoming Passage keeper. It was now 3-1 going into half time.
Second half began with Bandon changing from a 4-4-2 to 3-4-3 desperately trying to get back two goals. Bandon came out all guns blazing and got stuck into Passage from the whistle. Bandon showed some great heart but it wasn’t to be their day as they were caught on a cruel counter attack which involved Passage man of the match Jamie o Sullivan. It was 4-1 and Bandon new they had a mountain to climb. Still unwilling to give up the game, they worked hard and still played some outstanding football. Bandon were unlucky not to get back a goal sooner than they did with some great attacking football on the right hand side with Mattew Elsonbokhty and Shane Lowney. There was one more goal left in the game and it went to Bandon. Some trickery from Bandon substitute Philip Wall say him getting himself into box and being brought down by passage centre half Conor McGrath. Aaron Daly stepped up and got his 3rd goal in 2 games. They game finished 4-2 to Passage.
