Seniors vs Everton – 25th March 2022 – Div 1

Bandon welcomed Everton to the Town Park in search for another 3 points.
Bandon started the brighter team and had chances to score early on.
Bandon got rewarded for their early pressure and after some brilliant play down the right side Gary Matthews found Peter Callanan to slot in Bandon’s first of the day. Bandon were unlucky to have a goal ruled off for offside from a well worked corner when Peter Callanan found Ger Rice
Bandon’s back four and goalkeeper Ryan Scanlon kept the Everton attack out to ensure Bandon went in 1-0 at half time.
Second half Bandon went in search for a second goal. Brendan Cullen found Gary Matthews at the back post where he made no mistake in heading it past the keeper.
Cullen was next to get on the score sheet. He slotted home from a goal mouth scramble from a Peter Callanan corner. Bandon finished the game strongly and once again Brendan Cullen found Aaron O’Driscoll who calmly slotted past the on rushing Everton goalkeeper.
Brilliant performance from Bandon players. It was great to see Shane Barry back from a long term injury.
