Bandon went into this game only one point off their opponents. Bandon started the brighter of the two teams with Kate McLaughlin in centre midfield and Izzy Canniffe on the left wing linking up well. Bandon were very strong going forward on both wings. Right back Anna Daly giving perfectly waited passes to Emily Holland who was keeping the Richmond defence on their toes. Bandon got their first goal on the 15 minute mark. Aoife Harrington played an excellent pass to McLaughlin who ran through on goal and made no mistake in slotting in the corner. Bandon were put under pressure from the restart but the back line of Daly, Laura Barr and Niamh Trunwit held the pressure with goalkeeper Maeve O’Driscoll having a super game. Bandon went in search of a second which came around the 20 minute mark. Once it again it was McLaughlin who made no mistake and hit the target. Bandon were forced into making their first sub when Holland had to withdraw due to injury. Orla Trunwit came on for the injured Holland. Bandon decided to make some changes before the half bringing on Holly Warren, Sarah Buckley, Shannon Cregan and Rachel Carney. Richmond got their goal just on the stroke of half time. Bandon swapped players around at half time with Barr and Harrington showing their versatility and swapping positions. Mid-way through the second half Bandon got their 3rd with McLaughlin capping a great performance with hat trick. Bandon were very solid all round and Buckley and Warren causing danger on the wings. Eimear Crowley’s presence paid off when she got Bandon a fourth goal. Bandon were in a comfortable lead and made positional changes, bringing off keeper O’Driscoll and Carney slotting in.
