Bandon had their best display of the season in the under 16 league game on Saturday with a victory over Carrigaline. The visitors had won their opening league game but in awful conditions Bandon scored after 3 min when Jordan McCabe scored. Denzil Fernandez then added two more to put the home team 3 up after 15 mins. Colm Dineen scored his first goal of the season when he finished a move that started from the back when he slotted home from the edge of the area. Denzil Fernandez who was creating havoc then added another brace to make it 6 . Carrigaline were finding it hard to keep pace with some decent play from Bandon . James Kelleher scored with a long range effort before Carrigaline got a deserved goal to make it 7 1 at half time. Conditions continued to get worse and bandon made 5 changes for the second half. Eoin Nolan got the only goal of that half which he deserved for his overall work rate . Bandon played well but much sterner tests await in future games. All the players played well and it would be unfair to pick anyone out as it was a team performance.
Team: Shane Collins, Joe Gibson, Jack Kelly, Greg O’Sullivan, Jordan McCabe, Eoin Hurley, Colm Dineen, Mitchel Fallon, Denzil Fernandez, Eoin Nolan, Peter Blake, Brian O’Connell, Daniel Fernandez, Alex Eames, Mathew Bolster.
