Bandon’s fourth outing of the season was an away fixture against Wilton AFC. Bandon started the game well playing a high pressing game from the off and were nearly rewarded in the opening minutes with a spectacular strike from Paul Jnr which the Wilton keeper saved to his credit. In reply Wilton had a thunderous shot expertly saved with an outstanding leap from Sam Grundza. The first half was nip and tuck with both sides pushing hard for the opener. The second half saw a far more determined Bandon team coming out and establishing them self’s from the off. Shortly after the start of the second half a through ball from Sean Deasy found Paul Jnr running through the Wilton defense and at pace and finishing in spectacular style with a first time volley straight down the middle. Soon after this Wilton were awarded a free and a looping ball came off the underside of the bar and suddenly the game was 1-1. Bandon never dropped there heads and soon after the kick off Fionn Ustianowski made a determined run down the right wing and was rewarded with a corner. Ruairi O’Donovan swung in a beautiful left legged strike which was neatly headed home by Ronan Crowley. Bandon 2-1 Wilton. The game now picked up pace again and as Wilton pushed for the equalizer Bandon found more and more space to exploit. A breaking ball from a Wilton attack had Bandon on the counter, a sequence of passing found Daragh Power in space and expertly placed the ball to Joesph Buttimer’s left which he sweetly finished off on his weaker foot beyond the Wilton keeper. Bandon 3-1 Wilton. In the dying minutes of the game a through ball from Joesph Buttimer set Daragh Power through and after beating 3 Wilton players Daragh found himself through on goal. On his favorite left side he crossed the ball into the right hand side of the goal to put the match beyond Wilton.
